COMMUNITY
OF PRACTICE:
Port and Trade
Logistics in the Caribbean Region
Objective:  Serve as a catalyzer for generating knowledge
and designing remedial actions relevant to the Caribbean shipping industry,
providing insights on how broader global trends may affect and/or provide
lessons and perspectives for the region. 
Members:  Wide and representative range of participants
with an interest in the Caribbean shipping industry, including select
government officials and business representatives from the Caribbean, Latin
America, and beyond.
Key Community Subjects: General: Trends in
global shipping as they relate to and impact the Caribbean region
Port
infrastructure and regulatory environment; Trade and port logistics; ICT and
automation solutions; Energy efficiency issues in the shipping industry
post-Paris COP21 
Long-term vision: Gather information and feedback directly from stakeholders
in the Caribbean shipping community, so as to better shape and target the IDB
Group’s operational support to the Caribbean region.
